I am a 42y old dad and I am a pediatric surgeon and work at Children's Hospital of Orange County and University of California Irvine. Cycling has always been a large part of my life outside of my busy work and family life. Over the last few years I have transitioned from more road events/races to gravel and cyclocross in the winters. I live in southern california, in Orange County, where I bike year round. We have well established group rides that see 50-100 riders show up on the weekends and 20-30 on the weekdays. I routinely do at least one group road ride where I have worn my team stages kit for the last year. Furthermore, I have active memberships with two cycling clubs and have a have a large circle of cycling friends and have grown my circle significantly this last few years.
