Got into Triathlons in 2012 with a couple a friends. I was active with running, lifting weights and cycling, what I was not was a swimmer. Signed up for the Lifetime Indoor 2 weeks before the event. Learned the hard way I did not know how to swim. However got the bug and did 4 more races in 2012.
2013 started to research training programs and did 7 sprint tri's , got my first podium , qualified for USAT Nationals and qualified and raced North Texas Best of Best.
2014, got serious by getting a coach, who happened to be my brother and an Ironman top 1% age group racer. With his coaching and a regimented workout plan, from 2013-2019 I was a USAT Nationals qualifier and racer, North Texas Best of the Best qualifier and racer 2013-2019, Age Group Podium placement all local races 2014-2019.
I did one virtual race in 2020 and unfortunately did not race in 2021 as I had to have surgery to repair a torn labrum in my left hip.
2022 was my come back year after 2021 Surgery. I did 10 sprint tri races YTD September and was on the Podium - either Masters, Grand Masters or Age Group winner. Enjoyed being part of the Team Stages for 2022 and look forward to being on the team in 2023
