My name is Britt Mason, and I am a lover of off-road racing and adventure. Originally coming from expedition length adventure racing, I transitioned to endurance MTB. After spending time both on the road and in UCI CX, I came back to my endurance roots in MTB and gravel. I’ve won various 100 mile races but feel that I thrive in multiday events, having won Transylvania Epic MTB twice and recently finishing 8th at the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder 5 day race among a solid professional women’s field. I just won the inaugural TSE Gravel Epic Stage Race as well.

After spending 10 years as a firefighter, I currently run my own trim carpentry and home repair business. My fiancé Jen and I have put down roots in Ellicott City MD just outside of Baltimore in the gem that is the Patapsco River Valley. Home to more than 225 miles of trail right out our door, we haven’t found a better place for year-round riding that is lush with life and with such an incredible cycling community. Last year, with another friend, we started a women’s and junior’s off-road team, Knobby by Nature, to help support some strong youth riders in our community and give them positive female mentorship in the cycling community. This team is evolving into an irreverent women’s team that gives endurance and off-road cyclists a like-minded community as well as a friendly presence at event on the East Coast. I want to continue to be a positive presence for other women and LGBTQ folks and give them a safe and supportive space in the endurance realm.

In 2023, I plan to target 4-5 stages races in gravel and MTB, including returning to Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder. For the remainder of 2022, I am doing some UCI CX and have garnered top15 finishes in both C1 events I've raced, GoCross and Charm City. I am also competing at Marathon MTB Nats and CX Nats in the Elite category.
