Missing the selection, cramping in all the leg muscles, 13th place is all I had in me.

Raced well on a course that was not suited for me.  More elevation than I would have liked.  Didn't make the selection on the major climb Saluda Grade though I was well positioned at the front as the gradient kicked up.  Began suffering from cramps in the quads thereafter.  Found another rider to work with to try and pick off riders that were getting spat out the back of the front group.  Unfortunately for me my cramps worsened and started to involve my hamstrings and calves as well.  Had to knock off the pace a bit to keep from absolutely locking up from the waist down. Ended up finishing 13th in my division. Lots of climbing, lots of cramping but given the circumstances 13th was a better result than I would have expected.
